Lately, I have noticed the tendency in my heart to try to fool myself into thinking I have made spiritual progress simply because I have gathered and processed information. Granted it is good information – Large portions of scripture, sermons, articles, etc. But my heart is so in constant need of God’s living grace that it can actually work with the living Word of God and remain unchanged. I understand how the scribes and Pharisees could search the Word of God yet miss the God of the Word when they saw him.

Yesterday was my first Sunday at Capshaw Baptist. Here are my initial impressions:
