Several months ago some questions were raised about our process of receiving new members at Capshaw. Basically, if someone came forward for membership during the time of invitation, they would be presented and if the majority applauded – they were in. [...]

From time to time I compare and contrast how my parents raised me with how I want to raise my own children. I was born with an under developed kidney that caused me to be very sick for the first few months of my life. The Doctors had to wait until I was old enough to do surgery before they could take out the organ that was poisoning my system. From everything I have heard that was a very dramatic experience for my parents. It was then that God spoke to my father and told him that I would not die, but I would live and become a preacher. It was also then that they probably decided not to have more children simply because the weight of stress was more than they could bear.

Tim Spurgeon designed us (Capshaw) this great looking billboard that will soon be posted on HWY 72 at the end of Dupree-Worthy road. The sign is not only in keeping with our brand, but it also communicates our vision for ministry – to be a place where you can grow to your maximum potential in Christ. It should go up in less than a week just in time for the back to school/back to church rush. Let’s pray that we will not be guilt of false advertisement, but that we truly will be a Church that challenges people to press on toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.
